Governor Paterson is currently putting together his executive budget proposal.  As he considers his priorities in this tough fiscal climate, we want to make sure he knows that parks are enormously important to New Yorkers.

Our state park system has suffered decades of underinvestment–the result is a $700 million capital backlog.  The current state budget provides $100 million to revitalize parks.  Now, we must ensure that next year parks gets another $100 million in capital funds and enough operational funding to keep our parks open, clean and safe.

That’s why we’re initiating Postcards for Parks!  We want to deliver wheelbarrows of postcards to the Governor in support of funding for parks.

Just click here to fill in and submit a postcard.  We’ll print it out and deliver it to the Governor, along with thousands of others, in time to make a difference.

Working together, we can help revitalize our parks.

Please pass this on to your friends, families and colleagues.  Let the Governor know that New Yorkers love and support their parks!
